Dr. Patterson took time to listen to my issues and explained problems. I had an unexpected complication, but he saw me through it with my full confidence.
Having worked as an emergency physician at St. Dominic’s from 1998 - 2013, I had always been pleased with care my patients received. Having just spent almost a month as a post-op patient, however, I was most disappointed with my post-op floor care from the hospital point of view: my personal hygiene was grossly neglected, time from requested pain med to time given (usually an hour or two) was too prolonged due to bureaucratic excuses or shortage of nurses (seven patients per RN is, in my opinion, dangerous thin). I feel that room housekeeping was very lacking and very sketchy. Food was almost inedible and I skipped eating a few times.
The hospital needs to re-access their physical facilities and qualitiy of ancillary care on the floors. I would chose my same doctors, but chose another hospital! I suspect these changes occurred since the Dominican nurses are no longer there. This may be a case of trying to improve profits by driving quality way down from St. Dominic’s previous reputation for great care. A beautiful, new, state of the art Emergency Department does not accurately represent the in-hospital care. And, futhurmore, what, other than a cheaper contract, possibly, justifies letting most of an established crew of experienced, trusted E.D. Physicians being replaced. I would like to know the motive for that administrative move.

Great friendly nurses, and surgeons with awesome bedside manner. They answer all questions i may have honestly. They're quick to get you in preop and not leave you waiting extended periods of time! Will always use Surgicare for all my needs!
